Pulling into Pahokee Marina allowed us our first glimpse of the great Lake Okeechobee…
But we also caught sight of this…

Long… silver… Shining in the sun.
Come to find out it has an amazing history.
Designed by Louis I. Kahn in the 70’s for Maestro Robert Austin Boudreau who had a dream of bringing music to everyone. He would hire young musicians and they would tour the waterways of America, Caribbean and Europe.
It’s 195 ft long and has a stage that opens. People would bring lawn chairs and set up by the dock and enjoy an evening of music.

If they get it up and running again we’ll be making another trip down to Lake Okeechobee.
