Hogback Mountain Vermont
Hogback Mountain Vermont Florida’s nice…We enjoy 0% chance of snow….but it is relatively FLAT. My family is from the mountains of Letcher County Kentucky. I was born in Ohio the result of my parents moving for better jobs. Grew up in the country with hills to run in. Most of our children were born in Kentucky… a great place to raise kids… but we found ourselves in Florida and we’ve been here 21 years…. a looong time in the Florida flatlands. Been busy…no time to travel that far out of state. We’ve went South…Cruises in the Caribbean etc. but never North. This September we packed the truck and took off North… thru Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and swinging by Kentucky and Tennessee on the way back to Florida. We saw the Blue Ridge…
Hat for Massachusetts
Hat for Massachusetts So my brother is heading to Massachusetts the first week of December for his job…he will be there about 2 weeks. Trying to find winter wear in Florida that will stand up to the weather in Massachusetts is challenging. So I thought it would be a good time to try out a few hat ideas that were lingering in my head… but had no need to work up… because of the Florida weather. The hat combines patterns and cables with two colors so it makes for a more insulated head wear. What’s all that White Stuff – Free Hat Pattern
Trisha Yearwood’s Moon Pies
Trisha Yearwood’s Moon Pies My family loves Moon Pies…. and sometimes they are hard to find. This recipe is the answer. Simple ingredients and easy to make. I use the Ghirardelli Dark Melting Wafers instead of white chocolate. 3″ Cookie Cutters make the size that you would buy at the store. We like them bite size so I use a smaller cookie cutter . Wow! Unbelievable! Melt in your mouth Delicious! Ingredients Cookies: 1 1/4 cups graham crumbs (or about 8 ground-up graham crackers) 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 large egg About 1 cup marshmallow creme Further instructions can be found here.

FLORIDA KEYS
Last November we took a road trip to Miami. Everyone had days off for the Thanksgiving weekend and we wanted to see the Keys. Couldn’t live in Florida and never experience the Keys. After a good nights sleep in Miami we were up at sunrise ready to go. Pearl was on her perch… and looking a little leery. Seems like every time she goes on a road trip with the whole gang…. we end up at a large body of water. She hates water. And I’m sure she can sense the large amount of water around us…even if she can’t see it. Traffic thru the Keys was a steady stream of cars… moving at a steady pace… and we had a ways to go to make it to mile 0. There were spots where you could pull off and take a look around. Part of the old road to the…
