Hidden away in a corner of Williston, Florida is a truly unique Botanical Garden. Inside a 100 year old limestone quarry a beautiful garden was created. Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens Start at the top and choose the path you want to take to the bottom. GREEN BEANS: AQUAPONICS OR RAISED BED
Growing green beans in both the Aquaponics and raised beds. Aquaponics Plenty of blooms Leaves are nice and green Raised Beds Lots of blooms Leaves are slightly yellowed Experimenting this next week watering the beds with water from the aquaponics. UPDATE June 2016 Watered the raised beds with Aquaponics water for about 2 weeks. Picked 3 big batches of beans.
FIRST NEW CHICKS OF THE SUMMER
Cochin hen and her tiny chicks. When chicks are first hatched they love a bit of old fashioned oats and wild birdseed. We had such a mild winter here there’s an abundance of bugs this year.
FLORIDA SHEEP FESTIVAL
Stopped in at the Florida Sheep Festival this weekend There were sheep of many different sizes, colors and breeds…. Fleece for sale…raw and processed. Beautiful yarns, handspinners and weavers…. But what’s that? The Llamas were there for a haircut too! We enjoyed the sheep herding demonstrations with the Border Collies Sheep Herding : A Shepard and his Dog
